The Nacy Family

I met up with the Nacy family this weekend for a photo shoot at the beautiful Kensington Park. I lived near this park for 6 months and had no idea it existed! Man did I miss out. This park had such a great variety of places to shoot. Fields, water, playgrounds and a petting zoo! And of course God was smiling on us… the sun came out about 1 hour before our shoot! The Nacy family was so sweet and fun to work with. And their adorable daughter made my day when she gave me a handmade thank you card and candy :).

I had such a great time with you guys in Kensington Park! Thank you for the opportunity!!

Sunburst Mirror-by Isabella and Max Rooms

I was so excited when I came across Isabella and Max Rooms blog today and saw this:

I think this sunburst mirror is absolutely adorable. And the best thing about it? It is made with the branches I bought from Ikea for our centerpieces. I have been wondering what in the world I could do with all of these branches when the wedding is over, and now I have to wonder no more. 🙂 Can’t wait to get started on this project!

DIY Table Numbers photo 1

Blurry picture, but here are the finished table numbers!

They have our monogram at the bottom that I created in photoshop:

Card Box

I absolutely LOVE my card box. I was inspired by an item I found an etsy for $75! I could not justify $75 on something that is used for only one evening. After slaving hours and burning all my fingers with my hot glue gun… it is finally finished.

It’s fun to see the color scheme come together!

Ring Bearer Pillow

After getting worn out from all these arts and crafts, I finally got my energy back to keep going. I created the ring bearer pillow today and started on our card box. We also booked the church this last week! Things are really coming along and I can’t wait for the big day!

More to come soon!

Birdseye Maple Handcrafted Rocking Chair

Posted on

My grandpa has been a craftsman for over 40 years, has built multiple homes, and has handcrafted many treasures for our family. When I was much younger I begged my grandpa to build me a tree fort. He thought it might be better for him to build something I could take home with me. A couple of months later, my grandpa gave me a hope chest. He has now created hope chests for all of my cousins…. all 18 of us. Throughout the years he has built baby cradles, rocking horses, a timber frame home (and many other homes) that are all very special to our family. I have to say this is my favorite creation of his. When he brought over my parents the rocking chair he had custom-made for them, I knew I had to help him get his business going. He truly creates family heirlooms for all.

This custom rocking chair, inspired by Sam Maloof, is the most comfortable rocking chair you will ever sit in. With lumbar curvature and a hand carved seat; you won’t believe you’re sitting on wood. These rocking chairs are wonderful family heirlooms and would make a great addition to a baby’s room, living room, or front porch.
He creates these rocking chairs custom fit with custom wood and design according to your specifications (starting at $2,100). He would love to create a handcrafted rocking chair for you and your family. Please feel free to email me if you are interested or would like to see more pictures at: rex.jessica@gmail.com

Also feel free to check out his Etsy site:

I will post pictures of his other designs soon!
